Stone Town, a city built by the Arabs 150 years ago, and located on one edge of the island, used to be the main tourist attraction in Zanzibar. Today, more and more tourists from all over the world are driving the 1.5 hours it takes to get from the airport to the beaches that line the Nungwi Village in order to access the now famous coral reef and luxury resorts.
