With the growth of tourism has come an influx of people arriving from the mainland in the hopes of finding work. In less than a decade, Nungwi's population has risen from 5,000 to 15,000+ and the fish around the coastline are becoming harder and harder to find, especially for the line fishermen who do not use nets to catch fish.
